Caring Hearts Foundation

The Caring Hearts Foundation was formed to provide the Red Feather area residents and tourist/guests with excellent and essential community functions that will raise funds to reinvest in the Red Feather area community.

Our Events

  • Join us in our 3.6 Mile Fun Run on July 6, 2024! The course will be around the Red Feather Golf Course and will end at The Tavern at Red Feather Lakes! Grab a beer at the end and explore the incredible event booths that have been nice enough to come out! For more info regarding the race and sign up, click here!

  • The Tavern at Red Feather Lakes is planning this year's Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 21. We will have the biergarten, music, games, food, and festivities for all to enjoy! We will see you there!

  • Enjoy a scenic little dash in and around Red Feather Lakes, Colorado! Wear your favorite onesie (and layer it underneath if you need extra warmth!). Start at The Tavern at Red Feather Lakes and end back at The Tavern for a hot cocoa and s'mores bar and then we'll all walk into town (3 min walk) for the lighting of the village! Live music also starts at The Tavern at 7pm where you can grab a tasty cocktail as well. This is an easy 1 mile run/jog/walk. Register here!

Meet the Board

  • Kerrie Marr

    Meet Kerrie. Kerrie Marr, along with her husband Rich, own and operate Marr’s Mountain Cabins and The Tavern at Red Feather Lakes. She is a Colorado native and spent her youth taking family trips to Red Feather to camp and fish, the place she now calls home. Kerrie attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley where she also spent 15 years working for a non-profit with vast community involvement and large budgeting programs. She is passionate about helping her little mountain community thrive and prosper which is why the foundation was formed. Kerrie loves helping people connect and finding creative solutions to bring people together.

  • Kelley Frederick

    Meet Kelley. Kelley has dedicated her entire 30-year career to helping people in need. She grew up in the Midwest, graduating from Iowa State University with degrees in Psychology, Social Work, and Healthcare Administration. She has lived in various places, including internationally and across the US, finally settling in Colorado in 2003. Kelley currently is a Care Coordinator for Rocky Mountain Health Plans, but previously found joy in serving non-profit healthcare organizations with a focus on underserved populations.

    Since 2021, Kelley and her husband, Greg, have been living in the RFL/Livermore community with their two dogs. After a personal health scare in 2022, Kelley realized the need for resources and other challenges the mountain community faces, bringing her to the Caring Hearts of Red Feather Lakes Foundation. Kelley is dedicated to both personal and professional pursuits in making a positive impact within her community.

  • Kylie Hansen

    Meet Kylie. Kylie Hansen is a remarkable individual whose selfless spirit inspires those around her. She has a natural inclination to assist anyone she encounters. Born and raised in Colorado, she cherishes her childhood memories of camping, fishing, and cutting Christmas trees in Red Feather Lakes. Kylie studied at Aims Community College. During her professional endeavors, she has gained extensive knowledge in managing businesses and providing exceptional customer service. Her unwavering passion for her community is evident in her efforts to bring people together and make a positive difference.

  • Katie Thorne

    Meet Katie. She is a dedicated individual with a passion for people. Katie grew up in a small town in rural Arkansas, where she learned the importance of community at a young age. Katie moved to Colorado shortly after graduating high school and attended college on the front range. After completing her education in emergency medical services, Katie has worked for several years as a paramedic, responding to emergencies and supporting those in need. Her commitment to making a difference in the world led her to pursue additional opportunities serving her community. Katie actively volunteers and participates in stewardship projects with the Forest Service, among other community-centered events. Katie has always found community involvement to be incredibly rewarding and meaningful. Her purpose is to make a difference in the lives of others and leave a lasting legacy of kindness, compassion, and positivity in the community she serves.

  • Kathy Myers

    Meet Kathy. Kathy is a dedicated litigation paralegal who specializes in personal injury cases. Originally from the Midwest, she grew up in the small town of Pleasantville, Iowa, and earned her BA in Business Management from Simpson College. She has lived in the Denver area for 22 years but has settled in Red Feather Lakes for the past two years. Kathy serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Fox Acres Homeowners Association, where she reviews community improvement plans and assists residents with their inquiries. Kathy is actively engaged in promoting community engagement and encouraging others to take an active role in shaping the future of their community.
